Australian metalcore outfit Parkway Drive has made leaps and bounds into the scene since their debut album Killing With A Smile (2005 Epitaph).

Released first in Australia on June 25th on Australian iTunes store, it was the 2nd most downloaded album within 4 hours only behind Eminem’s Recovery. The album dropped in the USA on June 29th.  Deep Blue is testament that the band is showing no signs of slowing down. As warped tour made its stop in Idaho, Parkway Drive’s time slot was in stiff competition with label-mate’s Bring Me The Horizon – But that didn’t stop their fans from seeing them in Idaho for the first time since the summer of 2006.

Deep Blue continues the path that Parkway Drive forged with Horizons (2007 Epitaph) focusing on the much more technical musical aspect that was lacking in Killing With A Smile (2005 Epitaph). With opening tracks like that of Unrest and Sleepwalker one could only hope that the remainder of the album would hold the same intensity. Ask and you shall receive. The 49 minute onslaught is all that fans could ask for during the three year waiting period.

Deep Blue is available from Epitaph Records.
