On Monday, 8/30/2010, Ohadi and Upinatem played at Liquid Lounge for Punk Monday, presented by 1332 Records.

This new weekly University Pulse feature showcases live local and touring bands through photos and music. Read a writeup, check out some pictures and listen to songs from Ohadi and Upinatem after the jump!

Upinatem – PNAC’s Bitches (Live @ Liquid)

Though Upinatem had some equipment troubles in the middle of their set, they played a great show. Upinatem began in 1995, and is one of Boise’s most venerable punk rock bands. Liquid’s new(er) stage setup works really well for punk rock bands, leaving ample standing and sitting room for both kinds of audiences – the active and the passive.

Upinatem – Tragic Valley (Live @ Liquid)

After this excellent showing, one can only hope that Upinatem starts playing more often once again.

Ohadi – Out of Retirement (Live @ Liquid)

Though Ohadi hasn’t been around for quite as long as Upinatem, they’ve made their presence known in the Treasure Valley. They combine thrashy tempos laced with breakdowns and changes with dueling guitars and multiple vocal styles. Ohadi is essentially the best parts of 90s punk, 80s metal and modern hardcore rolled into one band.

Ohadi – Epidemic of Disappointment (Live @ Liquid)

Things got a little bit rowdy during Ohadi’s set and some drinks were spilled. They were also met with a few technical difficulties, but held casual conversation with the audience until the problems were overcome. Ohadi was the perfect end to a sweaty, jet-fueled Monday night at the Liquid Lounge.

Ohadi’s EP, The Way to the Heart, is available from 1332 Records.

Democracide and other Upinatem releases are also available from 1332 Records.

Bonus: Ohadi – Skulls (Live @ Liquid)
